In the Kingdom of the Medicis
Besse-et- Saint-Anastaise is loacted in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of volcanoes. Built at 1050 meters of altitude on a lava flow, the architectural ensemble of Besse-et- Saint-Anastaise , composed of many old buildings, is distinguished by its great homogeneity and by its Pierre de Besse color . The narrow and paved alleys ,the picturesque stalls, the belfry that is classified as a historic monument and the 12th century St Andre church ... are indications of its rich past.
